The salt marshes, unique landscapes

If you were curious enough to visit La Baule on Google Maps, you may have noticed a curious landscape. There is no mistake, it is the salt marshes of Guérande.
Located a few kilometres from Villa Caroline, the salt marshes, labelled “Remarkable Site of Taste“, also known as “terre de sel de Guérande”, can be visited.

Explore this place with its bewitching landscapes and changing colours throughout the day.
Discover the ancestral techniques used to produce the famous Guérande salt. Visit a village of salt workers and don’t forget to visit the salt shops. The opportunity to make, or to make yourself, gifts that will enhance your dishes while reminding you of your beautiful holiday escapades.

On the 2000 hectares of marshes two options are available to you.

  • The Guérande salt marshes, around the Traicts du Croisic, in the communes of Batz-sur-Mer, Guérande and La Turballe.
  • The Mès salt marshes in the communes of Mesquer-Quimiac, Saint-Molf and Assérac.
